Effective Date: August 25, 2018 | Last Updated: April 16, 2026
NET Systems, Inc. ("NET Systems," "we," "us," or "our") is a small business-to-business IT solutions provider headquartered in Irvine, California. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit net-systems.com and our online store at store.net-systems.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We have intentionally kept our data practices narrow and proportionate to the size of our business.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, such as when you request a quote, place an order, or contact us for support. This may include:
- Name, email address, and phone number
- Company name and industry information
- Billing and shipping addresses
- Product preferences and purchase history
- Communications and correspondence with our team
Payment information: We do not collect or store credit card numbers on this website. Card payments are processed either through our separate online store at store.net-systems.com (PCI-DSS attested checkout via Authorize.Net) or by telephone with our sales team. Please do not transmit credit card details by email or fax.
We also automatically collect limited technical information about your visit, including approximate location (derived from IP address), browser type, pages visited, and referring URL. Your IP address is anonymized before being processed by our analytics provider — we do not store full IP addresses.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and fulfill your orders and quotation requests
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Send transactional emails and account notifications
- Improve and optimize our website and services
- Send marketing communications — only with your consent. We do not run ad-personalization, audience-building, or remarketing campaigns.
- Prevent fraud and maintain security
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
3. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share limited information only with the third-party service providers we rely on to operate the site and our business:
| Service | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Anonymous traffic measurement | Anonymized IP, page views, browser type |
| GoDaddy (web hosting & SSL) | Site hosting, certificate management | Server logs, request metadata |
| Authorize.Net | Online store payment processing | Card details (entered by you on store checkout) |
| TrustedSite, Viking Cloud / SGS | Trust badge, PCI compliance attestation | Page-load metadata only |
We may also share information with law enforcement when required by valid legal process, or with a successor entity in the event of a business merger or acquisition.
Under California law (CCPA / CPRA), our use of Google Analytics is a "service provider" relationship — Google is contractually restricted from using the data for its own purposes.
4. Data Security
NET Systems implements technical and organizational measures appropriate to the size and risk profile of our business. These include site-wide HTTPS encryption, a PCI-DSS attested store checkout, a web application firewall, role-based access controls, and need-to-know restrictions for employee access to customer data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
- Order and customer records: 7 years (for tax, warranty, and accounting purposes)
- Marketing contact lists: until you unsubscribe
- Website analytics data (Google Analytics): 14 months, then automatically deleted
- Server access logs: typically 30–90 days, depending on hosting provider retention
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses a small number of cookies to provide essential functionality and to measure how visitors interact with our pages. We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies.
| Cookie | Set By | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years |
_ga_9PKPPNSRK6 |
Google Analytics | Maintains session state | 2 years |
Google Consent Mode v2: We have implemented Google Consent Mode v2 with privacy-protective defaults. Advertising-related consent (ad storage, ad personalization, ad user data) is denied by default. Analytics consent is granted by default but is automatically denied if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We have also disabled Google Signals, ad-personalization signals, and demographic data collection, and we strip personally identifying URL parameters (email, first name, last name, address, phone) before analytics events are transmitted.
How to opt out of analytics: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, enable Global Privacy Control in a supported browser (Firefox, Brave, DuckDuckGo), or block third-party cookies in your browser settings.
7. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act give you the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information we collect, the categories of sources, and the business purposes for collecting it
- Right to access the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you
- Right to delete personal information we have collected from you (subject to legal exceptions)
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of the above rights
Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (name, email, phone), commercial information (purchase history), internet/network activity (browsing on our site), and approximate geolocation derived from anonymized IP.
Sources: directly from you (forms, orders, calls), and automatically from your device when you visit our site.
To exercise any California right, email support@net-systems.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days, as required by law.
8. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
NET Systems does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To the best of our records, we have never sold or shared personal information — not in the preceding 12 months, and not at any time prior. Because we do not sell or share, we do not maintain a separate "Do Not Sell" mechanism.
Scope: this statement covers the personal information NET Systems itself collects and controls. It does not extend to general web browsing activity outside our control — for example, third-party cookies, referrer headers, or tracking scripts that a visitor's own browser, browser extensions, or other websites may introduce during normal web browsing.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honor the GPC browser signal as a valid opt-out request. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we automatically disable our website analytics for your session.
9. Third-Party Links
Our website contains links to third-party websites — manufacturer pages (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft) and trust-badge issuers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites. Please review their privacy policies before providing personal information. Note: our online store at store.net-systems.com is operated by NET Systems and is covered by this Privacy Policy; however, the third-party e-commerce platform on which it is hosted may have its own additional privacy practices.
10. Children's Privacy
NET Systems is a business-to-business IT provider; our website and services are intended for adults acting in a professional capacity. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (per the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA), and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16 (per the California Consumer Privacy Act). If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or applicable laws. We will notify visitors of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by displaying a notice on our homepage. Your continued use of our website following such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
